High sucrose diet does not increase insulin resistance

December 29th, 2006 | by admin |

Subjects given a high sucrose diet had similar results to those on a low sucrose diet. The diets were balanced for calories and fiber.

It should be noted that both groups experienced increased cholesterol levels and neither group had any improvement in their insulin sensitivity…which was already bad. But sucrose was”nt any worse than any other fiberless carbohydrate.
