High protein diet does not improve weight loss results in overweight children

July 3rd, 2007 | by David Spelts |

Overweight children may not achieve better weight loss results by consuming more protein. In this study, the low protein dieters had similar results as the moderate protein dieters.

What the researchers called ”high protein” was actually only marginally higher than the low protein group (22% vs. 15%). High protein is generally considered to be greater 30% of the diet.
