Green tea, caffeine, and calcium raise metabolic rate

March 16th, 2007 | by David Spelts |

A beverage containing green tea catechins, caffeine and calcium raised the metabolic rate by 4.6% or about an additional 100 calories per day. While that is not a huge improvement it is enough to provide significant results over time.

Drinking green tea will provide the catechins and caffeine. Calcium sources include leafy vegetables, dairy and supplements.
