July 13th, 2007 | by David Spelts |

Blood levels of vitamin C are inversely related to BMI, body fat percentage and waist circumference. The study used 500 mg of vitamin C daily.

Vitamin C improves insulin sensitivity, which is the likely mechanism of the decrease in abdominal fat. Also, vitamin C is an anti-stress vitamin and stress is a known appetite trigger.
