Free T3, the more powerful of the thyoid hormones, increases with waist circumference…. which may be an adaptive response to the increased bodyweight.

Many overweight people think that low thyroid output is the cause of their obesity. This is usually not the case. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include low basal temperature, fatigue, hair loss and dry skin.
