MCT oil, insulin sensitivity and weight loss
July 8th, 2007 | by David Spelts |Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) are metabolized differently than long chain fatty acids. They resist being stored as body fat and easily produce ketones.
Subjects receiving 18 grams of MCT oil a day (about 4 teaspoons… a whopping dose) ate less and had improved insulin sensitivy and weight loss over those receiving corn oil (a long chain, polyunsaturated fatty acid).
