Low glycemic diet versus low fat diet

Obese young adults were either put on a low glycemic diet or a low fat diet. Overall, both groups achieved similar weight loss and fat reduction. But for those with insulin resistance, the low glycemic diet produced better results.

Overall, the low glycemic diet resulted in improvements in HDL and triglycerides and the low fat diet resulted in improved LDL.
