Growth hormone and body composition

January 2nd, 2007 | by David Spelts |

Seven athletes and seven control subjects completed a period of 30 minutes cycling. The athletes had significantly higher growth hormone levels at rest, but both groups experienced elevated growth hormone levels during exercise.

No correlation between growth hormone levels and body composition were found. The researchers concluded it was exercise that made the athletes leaner, not their higher growth hormone levels.
