Endurance exercise and protein turnover

January 11th, 2007 | by David Spelts |

Recovery from endurance exercise has long been about replenishing glycogen stores. While this is critically important, recent research shows that protein turnover after endurance exercise is similar to that after resistance exercise.

Enhancing protein synthesis by providing adequate amino acids throughout the recovery period will result in a quicker recovery and enhance supercompensation.
