Dietary fat and weight gain

A follow up to the famous Nurses Study found only a weak link between total dietary fat and obesity. Stronger associations were found for the percentage of calories from animal fats and trans fats.

Of those gaining weight, total fat intake did affect the amount of weight gained.

Genetic factors did not result in greater weight gain.
