Resistant starch decreases fat deposition

Resistant starch, an undigestible cabohydrate similar to dietary fiber, slows fat deposition after eating.

Resistant starch provides other beneficial effects as well, including serving as a substrate for beneficial baceteria in the colon. The best dietary source of resistant starch is legumes/beans.
