Chitosan and weight loss

November 3rd, 2006 | by David Spelts |

Chitosan is an indigestible, structural component of crab and shrimp shells. Similar to dietary fiber, it has the ability to decrease the amount of fat absorbed by the digestive system.

In this study, the group that received chitosan lost more weight and more fat than either the control group or the placebo group.
