Aerobic fitness and VAT in children
November 29th, 2006 | by David Spelts |Aerobic exercise is important for children as well as adults. Unfortunately, many people view exercise as useful for losing weight but not necessary for everyone.
High levels of aerobic capacity are associated with lower levels of visceral adipose tissue (VAT). The males in this study had less VAT than the females, which seems odd considering that adult males usually have much more VAT than adult females. But the males in the study had higher aerobic fitness levels than the females and that made all the difference.
